Where to live and invest in Guanajuato, region by region
The industrial corridor runs from Salamanca and Irapuato through Silao and León, with the colonial capital, Celaya and San Miguel de Allende all within a two-hour radius. Pick the region that fits your plans: every guide covers costs, schools, climate and safety.
How to read this page
What these numbers are, and what they are not
Every English guide links back to the same public data we publish in Spanish, so the figures never drift between the two versions.
Regions, not a ranking
Commute times, employers and prices change quickly across the corridor, so we group the guides by region. Each card links to one municipality guide.
Two kinds of price data
Cards marked “From public listings” use asking prices published on Lamudi for houses for sale and rent. Cards marked “Preliminary estimate” are editorial ranges that still need verification.
The same numbers in both languages
Every guide links to the full Spanish price guide for that municipality, where the ranges are broken down by property type and operation.

León & the Altos
The state's largest metro area: manufacturing, design, healthcare, conventions and universities, with the deepest housing market in Guanajuato and the widest range of prices.

Industrial Corridor
The manufacturing spine of the Bajío: automotive, logistics, food processing and distribution plants strung along the highway between Salamanca, Irapuato, Silao and León, with Bajío International Airport in the middle. Most corridor jobs and most rental demand sit in this band.

Laja–Bajío
Grain, food processing and rail logistics on the northern edge of the Bajío cluster, with lower housing costs than the corridor cities and about 45 minutes to Querétaro.

North
Lifestyle and retirement destination: a long-established international community, private healthcare, international schools and a dense restaurant and services scene.
